“As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” - John 9:5
Do you feel like you are just going through the motions in your relationship with God?
Are you just reading and praying for praying sake? When was the last time you had an encounter with God during your personal devotion time?
How much do you value God? Are you in a cycle of not spending time with God? Many times when things are all fine and good it can be easy to get complacent. It can be easy to think on a subconscious level that nothing bad is happening so why put in the extra effort to know God, why not just do my usual routine.
Do you see the fellowshipping with God as a chore? A workout? A necessary evil?Do you feel its a waste of time and it wouldn’t help you?
People lack the discipline to wake up early enough to fellowship with God. Yet people also lack the discipline to reject all the time temptations during the evening to have quiet time with God.
Is guilt and sin a thorn in your side that means you run away from God? Do your friends and family influence you to move away from God? You think that God will tell you something that you don’t want to hear
One of the key issues that affects people in their fellowship with God is lack of urgency. Many need to see what goes on behind the Physical world we see, the Spiritual world. Many see death and end of existence on earth as far away. There is for many blurred lines on how “good” you need to be to go to heaven and the lifestyle you need to live on a daily basis.
For may feel you have so many years to live and have enough time to eventually become serious one day about having a relationship with God. However, you miss out on your future, on impacting your family and the people around you. Your length of life has been given to you for a reason. Don’t abuse it embrace it.
You are not just coming to a book or just singing songs, you need to have the mindset that you are speaking to a person each and every day. He understands you and your thoughts. Speak to Him and be in awe of His amazing wonder around you.
We were created to dominate. However, we were also created to worship the Creator rather than the creator. We were made to worship the Creator rather than our dreams.
Our dreams can become the object of obstruction from fellowshipping with God when they are not God-given and also when we are not continually looking for guidance from God on how to go about them.
Studies and deadlines affect your relationship with God. For many people the seasons of academic pressure disrupt their rhythm and flow for fellowshipping with God. It seem to eliminate progress made and that feeling of starting all over again. Your studies should be pulling you closer to God and you should be able to see God’s expression in what you are studying.
Do you struggle with information overload and putting God’s Word to work? Do you feel you have so much knowledge but are constantly playing catch-up to apply them?
Is your knowledge of God just what you have heard? Is it what you have experience and encountered personally? Is it what you have been able to reason through from the first principles of the truth of the Word.
